ABOUT THIS EVENT
Former RIC Women’s Basketball standout Stephanie (Coro) Barlow and Special Olympics Rhode Island athlete Ryan Fleming are celebrating five years of 24-Hours of Nothing But Net—a powerful free-throw marathon benefiting Special Olympics athletes across the state.
Friends since Stephanie’s playing days at Rhode Island College, where Ryan served as team manager for the Women’s Basketball team, the two share a deep bond over their love of the game and commitment to inclusion.
For 24 straight hours—from 1 p.m. on September 13 through 12p.m. on September 14—Stephanie will make 100 free throws every hour, on the hour, with Ryan by her side and her husband, Doug Barlow, joining the effort. Together, they’re turning free throws into lasting impact for Special Olympics Rhode Island.Nothing But Net began in 2019 in South Carolina, created by ESPN/CBS basketball analyst and Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer Debbie Antonelli, inspired by her son Frankie, a Special Olympics athlete. What started as a personal mission has grown into a multi-state movement—and thanks to Stephanie and Ryan, Rhode Island has proudly been part of it since 2021.
