A Message From Haralambos (Bobby D) Dafoulas

Hello Everyone: It is that time of year again, the Penguin Plunge! For many years, I have attended and participated (yes I jumped right in) in the Special Olympics Penguin Plunge. Thank you for your support and donation. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, whether it be taking the plunge with me, or coming out to show your support! This year I am looking forward to getting back to the beach as last year we could not attend this special event due to COVID19. However, check out the video below (copy and paste) which shows how many of us participated last year (find me at the 22 minute mark of the video) ! Thank you to everyone for supporting this special cause! Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Also, if you do not want to donate via online, that is not a problem, feel free to make a check out to Rhode Island Special Olympics and send to my home address.

Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, every day around the world. Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
