A Message From Paul Harrington
Thank you for visiting my Penguin Plunge page!
On January 1, 2023, at 12:00 Noon, the waddle begins on the 47th Penguin Plunge for Special Olympics of RI!
2022 has certainly been an interesting and challenging year so far. I scheduled my hip replacement to be able to do this! How can I not do it for the athletes I've supported all these years? So, it's a late start, but I pray for the continued generosity of all that have supported in the past. Thank you!
For my 36th Plunge I hope to raise $10,000 towards our $100,000.00 goal. I appreciate any and all donations in celebration of 36 years of plunging! Photo is from my first plunge. Boy were those long sleeves and gloves a big mistake coming out of the water!!! Awk Awk Awk
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Your donation won't keep us Penguins warm, but it will help raise funds for Special Olympics Rhode Island, a program of sports training and athletic competition for 3000+ children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.
I would also like to invite you to come down and see us go in the water. The plunge is attended by thousands of people and hundreds jump in every year. You will definitely see some sights. If you have a "bucket list" and want to do something crazy for a great cause before you die, consider jumping in!! You can tell people that you have done something that many would never dare. (sort of how I started 35 years ago).
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Freezin' for a reason,
Paul

In Support of Special Olympics RI
Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, every day around the world. Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities.
Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
