A Message From Joe Graziano
I am entering 2023 with renewed confidence and a focus on self and the things that make ME happy.
In order to do that I need to feed the passions I hold dear to me. One of the passions is doing good for others.
My first REAL volunteering experience was alongside my Dad. It was for a Special Olympics event back in 1999. While I couldn’t remember all the details, I do remember the joy on the athletes faces after each event and the passion of the volunteers who took the time to help make it a success.
So why the penguin plunge; besides the recent uptick in cold water plunges on tiktok?
Well it’s the first thing I could think of to jumpstart 2023.
More importantly, I want to show my daughters the value of community, partnership, and why we must make the commitment to making the world a better place for ALL people.
So 1 dollar, 5 dollars, or whatever you can help with is certainly appreciated and going to a tremendous cause.

In Support of Special Olympics RI
Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, every day around the world. Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities.
Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
