A Message From Oliveia Shaughnessy
Hello, My name is Liv and I have been involved with Unified Programs for about 5 years now. I have participated in Unified Basketball and Unified Volleyball at my high school all 4 years. I am a senior at East Greenwich High School and am also on the SORI Youth Activation Committee. This year I will be Plunging with my Unified Volleyball team in March 2023. Special Olympics Rhode Island and the EGHS Unified Community has given me amazing friends and positive experiences. The fundraising that we do will benefit unified programs and promote opportunities and support for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Special Olympics is very important to me and it holds a big place in my heart.

In Support of Special Olympics RI
Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, every day around the world. Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities.
Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
