A Message From Mary Ellen Powers
My name is Mary-Ellen Powers and I am a Special Olympics Rhode Island athlete. I participate in Swimming and Unified Bowling on the Bristol County Baysiders team. I am also the Administrative Assistant & Athlete Leadership Specialist for Special Olympics Rhode Island. I am very excited to be participating in the Torch Run Plunge again with my plunge team... the Arctic Athletes. The plunge will be held at 12pm on Sunday, March 26th at Salty Brine State Beach in Galilee. Any kind of donation would be greatly appreciated and it will support over 2,500 athletes like myself and my friends on our Plunge team! Thank you!

In Support of Special Olympics RI
Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, every day around the world. Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities.
Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
