Torch Run Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Rhode Island

Brave the bay for something bigger.
A quick plunge. A lasting impact. The ocean will be chilly, but the energy on the beach is all heart, and every dollar raised supports Special Olympics Rhode Island athletes statewide.

WHEN: Sunday, March 22, 2026
Check-In: 10:00 a.m. | Plunge: 12:00 p.m.

WHERE: Salty Brine State Beach, Galilee, RI

WHY: Because inclusion takes a team. Every dollar raised supports free, year-round Special Olympics Rhode Island programming, including sports training and competition, health initiatives, and leadership opportunities for athletes across Rhode Island.

TO PLUNGE: A $50 minimum donation is required to participate.

TO EARN INCENTIVES:
Plungers who raise $100+ by March 9th earn the official 2026 Plunge long-sleeve t-shirt, with additional fundraising incentives available.
Raise more, earn more, and you’ll receive all incentives up to your highest level earned.

POST-PLUNGE LUNCH:

Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
