A Message From Tammy David
Why do I Plunge?
I Plunge to raise awareness for the Special Olympics Athletes
I Plunge to raise funds for the athletes
I Plunge so the athletes can compete in Games year round
I Plunge so athletes have opportunities to travel to the USA and World Games to compete.
I Plunge so the Athletes can attend the Athlete Leadership University
I Plunge for Inclusion for the athletes
I Plunge for Opportunities for the athletes.
I am a retired police officer, Co-director of the LETR committee and most importantly a parent of a Special Olympics Athletes. Our son, Cote, is lucky to grow up participating in Special Olympics RI and be able to have access to so many opportunities. Opportunities led to building confidence, competing in sports, making friends, and graduating from Athlete leadership University.
Thank you for supporting the Torch Run Plunge and the Athletes.

In Support of Special Olympics RI
Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, every day around the world. Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities.
Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
