A Message From Rick Raf’s Penguins

Happy Plunge Season!!! For the tenth year in a row, we’re going to be helping fundraise money for our favorite organization, Special Olympics Rhode Island!! We all know and love a few athletes who participate in the games down at URI every year, and it is so important to us:) Of course ten years means ten years without our Grampy, Rick Raftery, our penguin in heaven who did the plunge for over 30 YEARS!! We do this in memory of him, and all of our loved ones who always supported us (or jumped in the freezing cold water with us!) Thank you to everyone who donates money, passes the link along, or comes swimming with us on New Year’s Day to kick off 2022! We couldn’t do this without your support! Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
