A Message From Smithfield Freezin' For a Reason
On Saturday, January 1st, we have committed to starting 2022 off right by taking the Plunge for the athletes of the Rhode Island Special Olympics by taking a chilly dip in alongside many other warm-hearted people. We know – you’re probably getting cold just thinking about it! But the cold that we will feel is temporary…the positive impact this will have on the lives of thousands of athletes will last a lifetime.

In Support of Special Olympics RI
Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, every day around the world. Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities.
Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
