A Message From Jolene Alves
Lace up those sneakers! I'm taking part in a crazy fundraising challenge for Special Olympics Rhode Island - joining a dedicated team of fellow supporters who will be walking east to west across the state for 24 HOURS! Full disclosure - I will only be walking a portion of this, but still fully expect to be icing my feet at the end.
This challenge is being dedicated to the amazing Athletes that I have had the privilege of getting to know over the years - through coaching, family and friends, or awarding well-deserved medals to at the Summer Games. Their strength and perseverance never ceases to amaze me. This is the least I can do to show my respect and dedication to them.
Please consider donating to my page, which goes directly to SORI and to the Athletes for their sports programs. I promise, we won't let you down!

In Support of Special Olympics RI
Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports, every day around the world. Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities.
Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
