A Message From Randy Rossi

On Saturday, January 1st, I have committed to starting 2022 off right by taking the Plunge for the athletes of the Rhode Island Special Olympics by taking a chilly dip in alongside many other warm-hearted people. I know – you’re probably getting cold just thinking about it! But the cold that we will feel is temporary…the positive impact this will have on the lives of thousands of athletes will last a lifetime. My Town of Smithfield colleagues and I have committed to take the Plunge and we need your help to reach our team goal! We are asking if you will make a donation to Rhode Island Special Olympics on behalf of me taking the 2022 Penguin Plunge. Any amount would be appreciated – it all goes to a wonderful cause, and every little bit gets me that much closer to my personal and team fundraising goal.

Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
