A Message From Emily Smith

I am so excited to be able to take part in the Polar Plunge this year!! This is by far my favorite unified event!! Please consider donating to such a wonderful program! In 2020, I was the top fundraiser in the state with $1,350!! Let’s get me to the top, and exceed my prior fundraising! Half the money raised goes back to our school and will help fund our Unified Volleyball, Unified basketball, Unified Cheerleading, U Social events and many other district wide initiatives!! Through sports, health, education and community programming, Special Olympics is tackling inactivity, intolerance, isolation and injustice that people throughout the world face, especially people with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island is one of the state’s most dynamic programs, providing over 1,600 year-round sports training and athletic competition opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Rhode Island hosts over 40 statewide tournaments and competitions each year in 20 official and demonstration sports.
